OTV Covers the Pro Kids Golf Tournament at the beautiful San Diego Country Club! Interviews are done by Angela Mills of Oakwood Escrow. The interviews include; Andrew Holets who is the CEO of Pro Kids Golf, Daniel Duchene who is the event coordinator for Pro Kids Golf, David Stone with Greater Good Realty, and George Young who is a board member for Pro Kids Golf!
The Pro Kids mission is to challenge underserved youth to excel in life by promoting character development, life-skills, and values through education and the game of golf. They want to instill in our youth patience, honesty, kindness, integrity, discipline, and confidence! Their goal is to create life-changing experiences that gives undeserved youth hope and opportunity!
Pro Kids Golf Academy, Inc. was founded by former AFL/NFL player Ernest H. Wright, Sr. and incorporated as a 501(c) 3 in 1994. That same year they partnered with the City of San Diego and the San Diego Unified School District to use Colina Park Golf Course to teach life-skills and golf to inner-city kids. They initiated a scholarship program in 1999 and in 2001, with the help of the Building Industry Association they completed construction on their 7,067 square foot Learning Center. Their facility houses a computer lab, classrooms, a community room, a Pro Shop, and a swing simulator room. The expansion allowed them to serve more kids, add more learning center programs, and emphasize academic achievement. In 2011 they opened a second facility in Oceanside for the youth of North County.
